WayForward was founded in 1990 by Voldi Way. Over a quarter century we’ve become one of the biggest independent developers out there, and house some of the finest talent in the video game industry. We got our start in the PC, Super Nintendo and Genesis era of gaming, rode the educational CD-ROM wave through the 90’s, and eventually found our way back onto handhelds and consoles. We’ve built our reputation on solid gaming fundamentals, feature-quality character animation, and flexibility and know-how when it comes to bringing entertainment brands into the world of gaming – both original characters of our own design, or comic book and tinsel town favorites. Over the last few years we’ve become mainstays in the area of rebooting classic game series.
Our Games
The list of titles that WayForward has developed is an extensive one, at over 200 released titles. Recent products include DuckTales: Remastered, Double Dragon Neon, Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!!, Batman: The Brave & the Bold, Contra 4… the list goes on and on.
When we’re not making games for other publishers, we’re creating our own! Many years of working with top entertainers has rubbed off on us, and as a result our own home-grown creations are pretty swank. We’ve helped launch the digital download scene with Lit, Mighty Flip Champs, Mighty Switch Force, and are currently developing new entries to our award winning Shantae series! We’ve made a big push to extend our reach to new platforms and territories, and today WayForward’s original games are being played all across the globe!
Our Goal!
We want to create the most entertaining games under the sun. Our goal is to engage, delight, surprise, and match wits with gamers of all ages on whatever devices they can be found! Of course, a little humor along the way never hurts.
