About

Binary Design Ltd. was a UK based development studio during the 80's that focused on budget priced arcade conversions for a wide array of home computers such as the Amiga and C64.

Binary Design Ltd. was a UK based game development studio during the 80’s that produced many arcade conversions for computers such as the Amiga and Commodore 64 along with several original titles. Their titles were published by many of the big publishers of that era including Mastertronic and Quicksilva. The company, especially towards the end of its existence, compromised the quality of its titles in order to just quickly produce a greater quantity of games on a greater number of platforms. In 1990, the struggling company finally went bankrupt due to an exodus of programmers and designers (some of whom went on to form Zippo Games), Virgin’s takeover of their main publisher Mastertronic, and the end of the budget priced games era.
