About

A Japanese developer and publisher. Best known for its copious output of Pachinko and gambling games.

Overview

Coconuts Japan is a video game developer and publisher, but also the creator of pachinko and "Pachi-Slot" machines for Japanese gambling parlors. A great many number of their pachinko games use virtual approximations of machines that they themselves manufacture in reality. They produced their first game, Mezase Pachi Pro: Pachiokun (which also introduced their mascot, Pachiokun), in 1987 for the Famicom.

As well as pachinko games, Coconuts Japan published a smaller number of sports games and games from other genres for Japanese consoles. They continued to work in the game industry up until 1999.
