Darkside Game Studios was a sister studio of Shadows in Darkness. The company was shut in February 2015.

Darkside Game Studios was spun off from art/design outsourcing studio Shadows in Darkness to focus on the technical development aspects of game design.

Most notably, the studio developed the "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution" DLC for Borderlands and designed the multiplayer portion of Spec Ops: The Line.

The company was contracted by Microsoft to help develop a reboot of Phantom Dust for the Xbox One. However in February 2015, Microsoft had announced the working relationship had ended. Shortly after, Darkside Game Studios announced it would be closing down.
