About

A former spin off video game company created when Parallax Software, the company that developed Descent, split in 1997. Known for their development of Descent 3.

Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Outrage Games was primarily lead by Matt Toschlog. Outrage Games was originally formed when Descent developer Parallax Software split into two companies in December 1997:  Volition and Outrage Entertainment. After the split, Outrage Entertainment remained close with Volition, sharing resources and helping out on many of their game projects. Outrage Entertainment's first game release was Descent 3 in 1999. They were later purchased by publisher THQ on April 4, 2002 along with Volition and renamed Outrage Games. In July 2004, THQ shut down Outrage Games while keeping Volition in operation.

Major releases developed by Outrage Games include Descent 3, Alter Echo, and Red Faction II ( PC).
