About

Rockstar Vancouver was located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, BC. As part of Rockstar's 2012 Canadian restructuring, RSV employees were merged and relocated to Rockstar Toronto. Rockstar Vancouver is now defunct.

Barking Dog Studios was founded in May of 1998 in Vancouver, British Columbia by six ex-Radical Entertainment employees; Brian Thalken, Peter Grant, Sean Thompson, Christopher Mair, Glenn Barnes, and Michael Gyori.

Barking Dog was purchased by Rockstar Games in August of 2002 and renamed Rockstar Vancouver. A full decade later, after the release of Max Payne 3, Rockstar decided to merge its Canadian studios into one unit 35km outside of Toronto. Rockstar Vancouver employees largely migrated to Rockstar Toronto.

Games developed under the name Barking Dog Studios;

Homeworld Cataclysm

Counter-Strike (worked on beta 5, including maps Train and Backalley)

Global Operations

Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon

Games developed under the name Rockstar Vancouver;

Bully

Bully: Scholarship Edition (in coordination with Rockstar New England and Rockstar Toronto)

Max Payne 3

Rockstar Vancouver also reportedly worked on a title in the Spec Ops series before Bully, though it was ultimately cancelled in early 2005.
