Scorpius started back in 2006-2007 by developing a game engine technology called StemCell. We've worked on it for almost three years and released a couple of commerical versions but failed to gain traction. As part of the way we tackled engine promotion, a few game ideas arised and one of them we followed further. This happened to turn into our first commercial game published on Steam 3 and a half years later - I Shall Remain. At the same time, to supplement the cashflow into the company, we've taken a few game projects for other clients and highten our skills by working with game engine technologies like Unity and Unreal.
After the release of I Shall Remain (August 2015) and the mild succesful recognition it got, we had to decide whether to pursue this project further or restart and create a new IP, one that we believed it will have a better chance for success in an overcrowded PC market.
Half a year later PositronX has been born. The switch from Action-Survival RPG to Roguelite FPS has not been an easy one but we believe is proven our ability to adapt and take big leaps into what we are able to achieve here at Scorpius Games.
