About

A defunct publisher and developer Thalamus was active from 1986-1994.

Overview

Founded in 1986 in North London, England, Thalamus was subsidary to the publishing house responsible for prolific gaming magazines, trying to cash in the popularity of the magazines as well as utilizing the in-house information infrastructure. Among the games released over the next 8 years were successful titles such as Saxon, Armalyte and Delta. However, financial troubles of the parent company and with the expensive transition from 8 to 16bit systems lurking ahead, Thalamus went defunct in 1993 with a few Amiga and some C64 projects in development (Including sequels to Armalyte, Saxon and Delta) which were conclusively canned. Eidos Interactive aquired some of the Thalamus rights.
