The Artistocrats is an independent video game development studio. With our past experience and our strong ties with wargaming publishers Slitherine Software and Matrix Games, our current field of expertise is within the genre of (historical) strategy games. Our goal is to combine the intuitive yet deep gameplay of classic wargames with modern day standards of graphics, sound and animations.

The team’s earliest origins lay in hobby game creation and modding, a passion that quickly drove us to a professional level. After several years of experience working with Slitherine Software on several of their games – including wargaming hits such as Battle Academy and HISTORY Great Battles Medieval – the team has now grown into a fully efficient and independent development studio.

Our design philosophy is to treat each aspect of a game with great care and attention to detail. Gameplay, UI, balancing, artwork, animations, sound, music, AI, … each of the individual pieces are handled with passion by our crew, carefully merged together to achieve the best possible gameplay experience.
