About

The Bitmap Brothers are a UK game developer

Founded in 1987 by Eric Matthews, Steve Kelly and Mike Montgomery, the Bitmap Brothers released a number of highly-regarded games in different genres across a number of platforms.

In 1988 The Bitmap Brothers released their first game, a shoot 'em up called Xenon.  Xenon became the first Amiga game to enter the UK top 40 charts, selling over 100,000 copies.

Later that year The Bitmap Brothers released a future-sport game called Speedball, an arcade sports simulation, a recipient of many awards.

In 2004 Mike Montgomery and John Phillips left The Bitmap Brothers to found Tower Studios with Jon Hare.
