About

Every year NDC presents a variety of subjects with the express intent of sharing industry knowledge.

The NDC started out as an in-house conference in 2007 to share knowledge and experience gained from the various projects being developed at Nexon. The company’s employees have lead the Korean game industry for the past 25 years. The first NDC was a small conference of only 33 presentation sessions. Yet every year it grew in size until today, when more than 200 speakers will give 100 – 150 sessions.

Although initially intended just for Nexon employees, the NDC opened its doors starting in 2011 to people from Nexon affiliates, other game companies, and students interested in the game industry. It has grown accordingly from a private conference to a grand forum for sharing knowledge among industry professionals.

Subjects include game design, programming, visual arts and sound, production, and business marketing and management. The NDC continued to grow to also include discussions on indie games and platforms like online, mobile, and console.

In addition, an artwork exhibition is held every year alongside the conference, displaying not only illustrations but also media art made by motion capture, and re-interpretations of existing game artwork.
