Easy Studios is a developer owned by Electronic Arts with the main purpose of pursuing and experimenting within the free to play games market.

Easy Studios is a combination of approximately 70 staff which come from two EA owned developers: EA Phenomic which are based in Ingelheim, Germany and Digital Illusions CE which are based in Stockholm, Sweden.

The main objective of this merger hasn't ever been outlined by Electronic Arts themselves but it is speculated that this was to join both of EA's free-to-play game developers into one united studio; the staff which had worked within the DICE studios had worked on both Battlefield Heroes and Battlefield Play4Free while EA Phenomic had developed Battleforge and Lord of Ultima.

With staff from both developers being present on each other's forums for their respective games during their development it is more than likely that this merger also allowed them to aid each other in their development processes of the games, taking knowledge from each other's experiences in developing games under a free-to-play model.
