We enable EA teams to build better games faster by building a framework around metagame systems that allows for high reusability, rapid development, and scalability. We enable best-in-class data solutions to give groups at all levels visibility and insight into games' performance and opportunities.To build this framework, we are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join an experienced team of developers. If you have experience with building services through modern techniques connecting multiple services together we want to hear from you. You will work with multiple developers and game teams to bring complex backend solutions to life.You are comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. The Full Stack Software Engineer will report to the Director of Software EngineeringResponsibilities:Work in partnership with game teams to design shared servicesDevelop, launch and maintain high-traffic services for multi-platform AAA titlesProvide support to members of the team and customers as a subject matter expertLead and participate in architecture and design discussionsLead engineering pods to own and implement product featuresProvide mentoring to team membersPerform service load testing to identify and resolve bottlenecksEstablish best practices and enforce them through code reviewsShape the direction of the product by researching and integrating new technologiesBe accountable for the overall health, quality, maintainability and style of the server codebaseAnalyze and interpret technical dataWrite technical documentationQualifications:A Degree in Computer Science or at least 10 years of technology industry experienceExtensive experience with client/server architectureExperience with micro-service developmentExpert understanding of throughput, latency, memory and CPU utilizationExpert development experience with modern programming languages (eg, Go, Typescript)Experience with gRPC, Protocol buffers or FlatBuffersExperience with C#, C++ or Java developmentExperience with source code management (Perforce, Git)Effective with public Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)Understanding containers, orchestrators and service mesh technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Envoy, Istio, Linkerd, Jaeger)Understanding of various database and their performance characteristics (SQL and NoSQL)Familiarity with web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX designExperience working with CI/CD technologiesPassion to investigate and adopt new technologies and practicesBonus SkillsExperience with frameworks like React or AngularExperience shipping AAA gamesExperience working with PlayStation and Xbox online systemsExperience with cloud native application developmentPay Transparency - North AmericaCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). PAY RANGES* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$165,900 - $238,100 CAD* Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane) *$178,200 - $239,200 USDIn the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.
