About Blizzard & Overwatch EsportsAs the Asia Lead for Overwatch Esports, you’ll own the competitive vision, regional strategy, and operations execution of all esports programs across Asia, including China. You’ll design an ecosystem that empowers players at every level, strengthens partnerships with regional stakeholders, and connects Blizzard’s global esports strategy to the unique opportunities and cultural nuances of each market.What You’ll DoLead the strategic planning, development, and execution of Overwatch esports for all of Asia (including China), working across grassroots, regional, and premier tiers (i.e., OWCS).Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive ecosystem in Asia: regional tournaments, amateur-to-elite pipelines, open qualifiers, etc., tailored to each local market and aligned to Blizzard’s global standards.Oversee operations of premier esports competitions including ruleset development and execution, tournament scheduling, product planning, coordination with global programs and broadcasts, serving as primary escalation point for vendors across Overwatch Esports programs in Asia.Lead initiatives for other Blizzard Esports initiatives (outside of Overwatch) as needed and requestedManage relationships with local stakeholders: tournament organizers, broadcast partners, regional publishers or licensors (especially in China), teams, players, talent, and other regional partners.Coordinate and supervise third-party vendors/production partners for live events, online competitions, broadcasts, and local tournament operations — ensuring high quality, consistency, and compliance with Blizzard’s standards and guidelines.Work cross-functionally with global Overwatch Esports and Blizzard Asia leadership, publishing, events, community, marketing, legal, and localization teams to ensure seamless integration of Asia esports initiatives within Blizzard’s overall strategy.Own budget planning, forecasting, and financial oversight for all Asia-region esports operations. Make data-driven decisions about resource allocation, scaling, and prioritization.Define and track KPIs for regional esports success (player participation, viewership, retention, competitive balance, community growth, revenue/monetization if applicable) and report on program performance to executive leadership.Provide strategic insights on the competitive gaming market in Asia — including regional trends, opportunities for growth, potential partnerships, threats, and cultural/regulatory considerations (e.g. localization, broadcast restrictions, licensing, platform differences).Serve as a regional ambassador for Overwatch Esports in Asia: represent Blizzard at industry events, work with media, build community relationships, and nurture the competitive ecosystem.Work closely with the Overwatch regional operations lead to ensure alignment on regional priorities, identify cross-functional collaboration opportunities, and lead the delivery of joint projects across Asia.Partner with the regional Overwatch business operations lead and publishing teams to deliver cross-functional collaboration projects aligned with organizational needs.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree a plus.Minimum 7–10 years of experience in esports, gaming, live events, broadcast, or related fields — with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior manager role.Demonstrated experience managing esports programs (structured tournaments, , grassroots-to-elite pipelines), ideally across multiple markets or countries.Proven track record of working with regional partners — including third-party vendors, broadcast companies, teams/organizations, and local publishers or license holders (especially in Asia/China).Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and business acumen — ability to balance long-term vision for regional development with operational execution and resource constraints.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable collaborating across cultures and time zones, and operating in a matrixed organization.Deep knowledge of the competitive Overwatch (or similar esports) landscape — both globally and regionally — including broadcast, tournament formats, community culture, and esports ecosystem dynamics.Familiarity with broadcast production workflows, vendor management, event logistics, and live operations in an esports context.Budgeting and financial management experience for large-scale programs.Ability and willingness to travel frequently across Asia and globally, often to support live events, regional launches, and stakeholder meetings.Fluency in English with proficiency in one or more of the following Asian languages: Mandarin, Korean, JapanesePassion for gaming and esports, and commitment to fostering a healthy, sustainable, and player-centric competitive ecosystem.Nice-to-Haves (Pluses)Experience with localization, regulatory/regional compliance (especially China), and working with regional publishers/licensors in Asia.Strong network in Asia’s esports scene: teams, organizers, broadcast partners, talent, local community leads.What You’ll GetOpportunity to shape the future of Overwatch Esports across one of the world’s most dynamic and diverse regions.A collaborative, high-impact role at Blizzard — working across global and regional teams, and making tangible influence on esports strategy, community growth, and live events.A culture that values quality, polish, creativity, and a player-centric mindset.Competitive compensation, benefits, flexibility to collaborate with global teams, and the chance to travel across Asia and beyond.If you’ve dedicated your career to esports, have a deep love for Overwatch, and thrive in high-stakes, cross-regional leadership roles — we’d like to hear from you.
